While chilling on the beach in Clearwater, Florida, suddenly a pirate ship appeared! The sun was setting and from my point of view, the ship sailed in the direction of the sun. I waited until the sun was between the masts of the ships and pushed the button of my camera.
We went skiing in New Hampshire for a weekend, and one day I brought my camera to the top of the mountain. The temperature was at least 10 degrees Celcius below zero, and after each photo I took (glove-less!) I had to warm my hands for 10 minutes before I could move my fingers again. Brrrrrr!

I had to get quite close to these birds with my wide-angle lens for them to appear large enough in the picture to be noticed. When I got quite near they thought I was close enough and flew off, which gave the photo a dynamic look.

Normally it is forbidden to make photos at the ASML premises, but when I was working there, there was a competition for employees to make the best photo at ASML. I almost got arrested because I was one of the first to make a photo inside the restricted premises, and security was not aware of the competition.
